Carl Kroboth takes the 10 question challange.1. Why do you follow Christ?
I got tired of not having the answers. I got tired of thinking I could go it alone in this world. This world is full of lies, and I chose to follow the Truth of Christ. The change in my life since I put my trust in him is significant. For me there is no going back to the way I was before. I was miserable with out Christ.
2. Who was your biggest influence towards your relationship with Christ?
This is a tough question and I am the one that wrote the questions. There have been so many. My Dad in many ways showed me Christ in the last days of his life, but as I reflect back on his whole life I see Christ in him in so many ways.
3. What is truth to you?
Christ and Christ alone. We are saved by the Grace of God according to our Faith in his Son. Nothing we can do will affect that salvation. Our actions mean nothing with out Faith; our actions alone can not save us. Christ died so that we can live in freedom from the bondage of Sin.
4. Looking at Phil 4:8, besides True, which one of the remaining 7 filters would you say describes your story the best and why?
This is a package deal. The whole thing defines who I am. If I have to nail myself down to one though, I can’t. I would pick two, Admirable and Noble. I have risked relationships and have given up a lot to grow and share my faith in Christ. But we are called to risk those relationships and called to give up ourselves to follow him closer. Who am I to disobey!
5. When you look at the world what is the one thing you wish you could filter out completely and why?
Brian said Sin, and I agree. To take it a bit farther, sin comes from Selfish desire. I wish people would be less selfish.
6. What is your defining moment in your belief in Christ?
Without question the two years of healing God allowed me after my Dad died. Christ just keep moving me along, even though I was just going through the motions with Him. Christ never left my side, and when I couldn’t go any more he reached out and grabbed my hands to pull me back up.
7. Scripture says that the glory of God is seen in all his creation. Outside of scripture, what from his creation reveals God to you?
My Family hands down. To know that God would trust me with them proves that my reliance on him is not in vain. Because I need him everyday, to make sure I lead my family correctly. God has an order for everything in the universe, and I see that daily in my family.
8. How do you maintain a biblical world view on a daily bases?
I want to learn more about Christ all the time. I look for Him and the absence of Him in every part of my life. Where he is I spend time, where he isn’t I make time for Him. Christ is the example, and he became man so that we can learn from Him. He knows our joy, hurts, fears, and anger. Hears our Laughter, cries, and shouts of rage. I approach everything of this world based on his example.
9. If you can describe just one, what is the one quality of Christ that you would say you have now because of your changed life and why?
Empathy. I can so feel the joys, pains, and hurts in people’s lives. I can not imagine what life is like to experience those things with out Christ.
10. What is true about Christ in your life?
He is. Plain and simple. He is my Savior. He is the Truth of salvation.
