The life of a follower of Christ living by His truth is a life of action.  Where the Bible is God’s word and revelation of the Gospel of Christ, we as followers are God’s mouth pieces to the world.  What did Jesus say:

Mathew 28:19  Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

And Paul in a letter to Philemon prays: 

Philemon 1:5-7 I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.

We know that Christ through the Holy Spirit imparts his word on our hearts.   Paul’s letter to the Hebrews expands on the activity of God’s word. 

Hebrews4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

How can the word of God be active if we keep it hidden in our heart?  If we don’t let the word out of our hearts, if we hide it and put it under a basket, how will it ever be active enough to affect the lives of those we interact with everyday? 

We must act.  We must be willing as people who profess the Gospel of Christ to known by our actions and our actively sharing of the Truth. 

Proverbs 20:11  Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right.

1.  Every Thursday at 8:15pm we will be chatting live via TokBox.   Come join the  discussion about Philter48, and ask questions of other believers how they filter their lives.  The links for the live event will be active on the home page of Philter48 15 minutes before the chat starts. 

2.  Will you take the 10 question challenge?  Why? So others can see the evidence of changed lives. Hebrews 11:1 says “Now faith is be sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. As followers of Christ this Faith that leads to hope of what we do not see is based on the evidence of our changed lives. Our changed lives are the outward evidence to the world of an unseen God who lives within us so that he can be seen through us. So take a risk and a challenge and answer ten questions that might help provide evidence to someone else that they might believe in Christ.   The questions and how you can submit your answers can be found one the home page of Philter48 .

3.  Every Tuesday at 7:30pm or 9:30pm, I will be live blogging.  What is live blogging?  It is where you the reader get to help me create a live post.  I will have a topic of for the night, and you will be able to make comments about my blog post as I type.  The transcript of the Liveblog, along with your comments becomes a permanent post in the Blog section of Philter48.  So this is your chance to again help shape the content of Philter48 so that everyone can see the impact of Christ on our lives.  If you would like to suggest topics please e-mail  us at philter48@gmail.com

4.  The 40 Prayer Challenge:    If you are a believer in Christ and you use Twitter or Facebook or just have a bunch of friends.  10 people, 10 Messages, 10 Prayers for 4 days.  The first 10 people you see update their status with Twitter Facebook, pray for them via Direct Message on Twitter or Send a message via Facebook.  If you don’t use ether get some 3 x 5 note cards and write them out to your friends through out the day.  Nether I or anyone else will know if you do this for real or not.   The challenge is there for the taking, and this is a chance to affect the information stream we are so influenced by everyday.    More details on the new front page.

5.  Don’t forget our discussion forums and ongoing Study of the book of Philippians.  Come join in, start a topic in a forum, or add to the discussion in some of the ongoing topics.  This is a safe and moderated area to discuss life as a follower of Christ.
