Affect the Noise, The 40 prayer Challenge.
Don't think you have the power to affect the information flow going out to the world? Here is a way/challenge for you to affect the information in the lives of 40 people. About two weeks ago I did something on twitter a bit unexpected for the service twitter provides. I prayed via direct message for the first 10 people I followed that I saw update their status. I didn’t worry about if I really knew them or not, I just prayed for God’s will and guidance in their lives mostly. Some of them I know are followers of Christ others I don’t know for sure. I didn’t let that stop me. I just prayed for them, short and to the point, offering Truth through prayer.
The responses I got (you know who you are) was very positive, and appreciative. Some people didn’t respond at all. It didn’t matter to me ether way, but I wasn’t focused on the responses. I just sat down with God, and affected the information they were receiving from the world.
So here is where you come in. If you are a believer in Christ and you use Twitter or Facebook. 10 people, 10 Messages, 10 Prayers for 4 days. The first 10 people you see update their status with Twitter Facebook, pray for them via Direct Message on Twitter or Send a message via Facebook. If you don’t use ether get some 3 x 5 note cards and write them out. Nether I or anyone else will know if you do this for real or not. The challenge is there for the taking, and this is a chance to affect the information stream we are so influenced by everyday.
Please leave comments if you wish about this challenge and the affect you have had if you wish. Otherwise know you have the power to open a new Channel of information in people’s lives. So take the challenge and affect the information flow of the word, open channel of information to God, through prayer, and His Truth.
The church in Acts made prayer part of their community. Acts 2: 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.
Even if we don't know what to pray for.
Romans 8:25-27 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
We are to open up all requests to God.
Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
And pray for everything.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
