For His Pleasure

Paul writing to the Church of Ephesis talks to them about what it means to live under the Grace of God, and how to build a lifestyle worthy of that Grace.
This is the 7th week of the Blogged Bible Study. We are going chapter by chapter through Paul’s letter to the Church of Ephasis. To read the other posts on chapter 1 of Ephesians check out the Blogged Bible Study page.
First I have to say that Ephesians is my favorite book in the bible. It is the foundation of where my true faith started. Ephesians is the most marked up book in my bible. Arrows connecting verses and references to other passages in other books are things that only God and I would know how to interpret. I have had many long conversations with God as I read it. It is the book I turn to when I feel off track. It is like Gods hand pulling me back up out of the water if I am sinking. God never fails to come through for me with Paul's writing to Ephesis. God knows the hungar of my Faith can be nurished the most by Ephesians. Ephesians for me is a pleasure to read each and every time.
EPH 1:5,9 talks about God's pleasuer(Eudokia) or kind intent towards his purpose for us.
In 1:5 (Not to start a pre-des or free will debate) we are presestined to be God's children according to his pleasure and will. Part of the definitions for the word Eudokia is to delight in. God is happy and enjoys us as his Children, so much so He put a plan into place, so we would become His children through His Grace. (1:7)
In 1:9 We read about His good will according to his pleasure, which He put into action through Christ. This act of His will, to reveal to us His will, brings him pleasure.
God does not need anything. He does not need us for anything. However he does have a purpose and a will for us, and he takes Great delight in revealing His will to us, and watching us be transformed into the purpose He set before us. We being made in His image should take pleasure in His will revealed to us.
