Conversations...

I view prayer with God in two different ways, Petition and Conversation.  Petitioning God is what I do when I have a request of God’s will.  Conversation is what I do as I go through the day in constant communication with God.

Over the past week I have had a lot of conversation with God.  Sometimes I just ask questions, sometimes I make statements.  What follows is just an example of what I talked to God about this week.

Something needs to be said that I don’t know how to say.

Something needs to be done that I don’t know what to do.

Something needs to be that I don’t know that I can be.

How is it that we get to the point where a decision seems obvious but we can’t let go for fear of loosing what we perceive as important?

God how do you see me?  It is more important that I express myself in His view than in the view of the world.  He sees beyond my masks and walls, He sees me for who I am to Him and His purpose.  The world clouds my discernment of His will in my life and I wonder why I continue to miss the doors You open to me.

I have never been more comfortable with who I am with my faith.  But that comfort is very uncomfortable as I look out at the world.  I just want to scream… There is so much going on and people are running by the Truth so fast that they don’t even have time to pay attention to it.  How much can one person do to affect what is going on in this world?

Choices people, Choices.   There seems to be a growing move towards legalism when it comes to activities that are of this world.  We have a choice every moment of every day to glorify you God in our activities or to sit by and watch in passivity.

God you put into place the authorities that govern this world, and we are to respect those authorities.  Doesn’t mean I have to agree with them and it doesn’t mean I have to like what they stand for.  But, you God put them in place for your purpose…I must remember that as they govern.

There is a time to love and a time to hate.  Maybe that time is now.  A time to love all men as they are children of God.  A time to hate the world as it affects our relationship with God.  There is a time for war and a time for peace.  Maybe that time is now.  A time for war against the evil in this world, and a time for peace among the people of this world.   Blessed are the peacemakers, the son’s of God.

God thank you for being who you are and being there to just Listen as I ask and talk to you.
