Safe? Safe place?
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.
One of my most favorite worship songs is Strong Tower-Kutless, often times visualizing God as the place of refuge when the world is overbearing. Remembering that Hebrews 11 tells us that faith credits us righteousness. But safe? We are safe in HIM, just not the usage of the word that we have grown accustomed to... People still die, and love HIM very much. We still encounter pain, both physically and emotionally. But we are still safe in HIM. How can I say that?
Romans 8:35-39 states that nothing..NO THING can seperate us from the love of GOD. So we are safe! I encountered a family this week who suffered a loss of a son (21) through a car accident that was not his fault, this young man so very much inspired me a few years ago. He told a church full of people that his favorite song was the doxology, and requested that they sang it for him as he was being commissioned to college. The youth laughed, adults smiled, and my heart was humbled. I have sang that song endless times in my quiet time to draw closer to the Lord. I know with all my heart he is with the LORD. His families heart still breaks, but I also know with all my heart that the LORD is their strong tower, and HE will see them through this to something that will glorify HIM. They and their son are both safe in the LORD.
A homeless shelter reminded me of the many who do not have a strongtower...are you one like that?No strong tower of refuge, not place to land and feel secure and safe? Life is hard. Addictions are real. Finances are overwhelming. Relationships can drain the life out of a person. Making the right choices under the worst of circumstances near impossible. Death of a loved one that makes no sense. Know HIM, call on HIS name, and bow before your King, HE is your strong tower. I pray that if you are reading this, you know HIM, and if you dont you will.
